Off the back of my experience authoring “How to Code in Minecraft” and teaching tech skills to kids, I was approached to write a book on coding. I didn’t want the book to focus on one particular coding language or be quickly outdated, so I took a different tack: to illustrate the key concepts of coding by drawing parallels to everyday life. I was fortunate enough to have the book wonderfully illustrated by Paul Boston.
“How to Think Like a Coder (Without Even Trying!) has been met with positive reviews, translated into Mandarin and Korean, and has been sold all over the world.
In 2018 it was shortlisted and subsequently runner-up for the ALCS Educational Writers Award, and in 2019 it was Book Aid International’s Book of the Month for September,
“This step-by-step guide for absolute beginners does exactly what it says on the cover, introducing key concepts in a very straightforward and accessible way. Offering a fine balance between information and fabulous illustrations, this colourful book provides a wonderful, rather substantial taster to a subject on the rise.”
