Late arrival into Tallinn after a 4 hour layover in Munich, where I was able to find a place to sit and get a little gaming done. The night before, Estonia had presented ‘Espresso Macchiatto’ at Eurovision 2025, and it was playing on the radio in the car. The driver and I talked about it and he told me that even more impressive was a local broadcast of the song, which had a sign language interpreter doing all the moves to the song and essentially stealing the show.
I got in around midnight, but the driver said he would be back at the airport for more fares around 2am, as there is regular air traffic to and from Turkey. Those who can hop a flight in the early morning and wake up in time for breakfast in the warmer climes.
The hackathon schedule is pretty tight, so not much time for sightseeing. A quick walk through the old town before meeting my team for breakfast.

Getting ready to go up on stage for the awards ceremony. Left my drink on the table at the far side of the venue like a plonker.

Whoop whoop!

Some after party shots of the City Hall, former Palace of Culture and Sports. It’s 11pm and the sun hasn’t set.

I like the ‘municipal’ signage feel for this coffee kiosk. Shame they weren’t open. Tallinn airport has ping pong for anyone to play while waiting.
