Who is responsible?
jimchristian.net is run by James Anthony Christian, known as Jim, a self-employed professional (autónomo) in Spain, from Carrer Casinos 26, 46183 L’Éliana, Valencia, Spain. He decides how the information described here is used. His full operator details are in the legal notice.
Send privacy questions and requests to hello@jimchristian.net.
What information is used?
- Emails. If you write to Jim, he receives your address, your message and anything you attach.
- Discovery session bookings. The discovery page links to a booking page run by Cal.com. To book you give your name, email address, a short brief of the workflow and the outcome you want, and optionally your organisation or website. You choose a time and pay at booking. The brief asks you to keep confidential records and credentials out of it. If you need Jim to sign an NDA or confidentiality agreement before you share details, contact him first at hello@jimchristian.net.
- Payments. Stripe takes the payment through the booking page. Jim receives the payment record (name, email, amount, date and status). He does not receive your full card details.
- The session. Sessions run on Cal Video, Cal.com’s video service. The booking is added to Jim’s calendar. Sessions are not recorded unless you and Jim agree otherwise beforehand. Jim writes a short decision brief from the session and sends it to you.
- Site operation. Cloudflare serves this site and processes technical data about each request, such as IP address, browser and the page asked for, to deliver it and protect it from abuse.
- Analytics, only if you accept. Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location and your device and browser. See Cookies and analytics.
The booking fields marked as required are needed to arrange and prepare the session. If you would rather not use the booking page, email Jim instead.
Why is it used?
- Answering emails and arranging a session: steps you ask for before a contract.
- Running the session, the brief, payment and any refund: carrying out the agreement you make when you book.
- Invoices and accounting records: Spanish tax and accounting law.
- Serving and protecting the site: a legitimate interest in keeping it available and secure.
- Google Analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Booking does not subscribe you to anything. There is no newsletter on this site, and no decisions about you are made by automated means.
Who handles the information?
- Cloudflare: hosting, delivery and security for this site.
- Cal.com: the booking page, booking records and Cal Video.
- Stripe: payments and refunds. Stripe also acts as an independent controller for some payment data, under its own privacy policy.
- Microsoft 365: Jim’s email and calendar.
- Google Ireland Limited: Google Analytics, only after you accept analytics cookies.
Jim does not sell personal information or use it for advertising. Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. They do so under an adequacy decision such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or under standard contractual clauses. Ask Jim for the details for a specific provider.
How long is it kept?
- Emails and booking records: while a session or further work is being discussed or delivered, then only as long as needed for records, legal obligations or a possible claim.
- Invoices and payment records: as long as Spanish tax and accounting law requires.
- Cloudflare request and security data: under Cloudflare’s own retention periods.
- Google Analytics data: for the retention period set in the Google Analytics account, 14 months, then deleted by Google.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses no advertising cookies. When you first visit, it asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you accept, Google Analytics is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way.
| Name | Purpose | Lasts | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie | Remembers your cookie choice | 6 months | You make a choice |
_ga | Google Analytics: tells one browser’s visits apart | up to 2 years | You accept analytics |
_ga_757F21ZG26 | Google Analytics: keeps the state of a visit | up to 2 years | You accept analytics |
Google Analytics 4 runs with advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation turned off. Google Ireland Limited processes the data on Jim’s behalf. Google may transfer it to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. Google describes its handling at business.safety.google/privacy.
To withdraw consent, use (also at the foot of each page) and turn analytics off. The site stops measuring and deletes the _ga cookies. You can also delete cookies in your browser.
Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security measures when it serves the site. They are not used for analytics or advertising. The booking page on cal.com and Stripe’s payment page set their own cookies, described in their own policies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information Jim holds about you, and ask him to correct it, delete it, restrict its use or send it to you in a portable form. You can object to use based on a legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before.
Email hello@jimchristian.net with your request. Jim may need to confirm your identity and will reply within one month.
You can also complain to the data protection authority that applies to you, including Spain’s Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
Changes
If the site starts using information in a new way, this notice will change first and the date at the top will move. A new optional cookie will be off until you turn it on.
